The Hydro chair uses the 5083T alloy of Hydro Aluminum Company. Its composition is the same as that of the 5083 alloy. The 5083T alloy has super plasticity. The Hydro chair is therefore superplastic-molded and designed and manufactured by British company Tom Dixon. Hydro Aluminum and Tom Dixon began their cooperation in 2018, and after three years, they finally made this all-recycled aluminum leisure seat.

5083 aluminum alloy is an aluminum-magnesium alloy, its calibration composition (mass%): Si0.40, Fe0.40, Cu0.10, Mn0.40～1.0, Mg4.0～4.9, Cr0.05～0.25, Zn0.25, Ti0.15, other impurities 0.05 individually, 0.15 in total, and the rest are Al. This is a very common general-purpose aluminum alloy, and the price of its plate will not exceed 35 yuan/kg at present. According to the German magazine "Aluminium" No. 5 report in 2021, the price of this magical seat is as high as 2021 pounds each.
